On October 23, 2017 a two-day seminar “Topical issues of state accreditation. External quality evaluation of educational activities and students’ training" was held at the premises of the Ukhta State Technical University.
Among the participants of the seminar there were rectors and pro-rectors of educational organizations, directors of colleges and branches, deputy directors, as well as heads of departments and educational and methodical departments, department specialists, deans of faculties, heads, associate professors and academic staff.
The seminar opened with a speech of the Rector of the Ukhta State Technical University, Nikolay D. Tskhadaya. The participants were also greeted by Valentina V. Zhideeva, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Komi Republic.
The Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Komi Republic, Minister of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Komi Republic Natalia A. Mikhalchenkova, spoke about the main directions for the development of professional qualifications in the Komi Republic.
She said: "In the period when economy lives in the mode of technological and organizational renewal, constant improvement of production methods and management principles, the employee gets imposed with absolutely new requirements. Employers give preference to creatively active people who master advanced technologies. The desire to improve and expand the knowledge, the ability to constantly learn is highly-prized... In the labor market, the value of an employee is measured not so much by the place he studied at as by what he can do and how qualitatively he does it. Therefore, quality education is extremely important for a good start to a professional career".
The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Komi Ilya V. Semyashkin devoted his report to the topic “Professional Standards: Prospects for Labor Market Development”. Sotnikova Olga, Acting Rector of the Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University spoke about their practical experience in improving the quality of education.
The content part of the seminar proceeded with the report of NAA Director Lemka S. Izmaylova “Renewal of the state accreditation procedure as a modern tool for assessing the quality of education”.
Sergei N. Ponomarenko Director of the Federal Institute for the Assessment of the Quality Education devoted his report to the All-Russia Olympiad of professional skills as an element of a unified system for assessing the quality of education.
The seminar program was continued by the leading specialists of NAA.
The seminar was attended by 79 representatives of educational organizations of higher education and 26 educational organizations of secondary vocational education and training.
Representatives of three federal districts of Russia took part in the seminar. They include the Northwestern FD (Republic of Karelia, Saint-Petersburg, Republic of Komi); Central FD (Bryanskaya region, Moscow); Ural FD (the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District).
