On March 20-21, 2017, the VIII International Ecology Forum was held as a part of the Year of Ecology in Russia.

NAA’s Deputy Director Elena M. Efimova took part in the working session "Current Issues, Problems and Future of Professional Education in Ecology in Russia" at the VIII International Forum "Ecology". She made the report "State accreditation of educational activities as a tool to control the quality assurance of environmental education".

The forum was organized by the ANO "Public Forum" Ecology ". The event is traditionally held with the support and participation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources and other relevant ministries and departments.
