Russia and Belarus are consolidating the formation of a common educational and technological area

On February 27, a joint panel session of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus was held in Minsk.

The meeting was attended by O.Vasilyeva - Head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, I.Karpenko - Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, A.Shumilin – Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, A.Muzaev –Deputy Head of the Rosoblnadzor and Lemka Izmaylova – NAA’s Director.

A wide range of issues related to quality assurance of education in the two countries, the implementation of state youth policy, including support for talented youth, children and teenagers were discussed at the panel session.

The Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of RF opened the meeting by noting that the joint panel session is an effective format that allows to develop the agreed decisions on convergence of educational systems and integration of scientific and technological capacity of the two countries.

The participants discussed the implementation of the priority tasks for the Union State development in the sphere of education, science and youth policy. They also reviewed the state policy implementation in educational area in Belarus and Russia, and the perspective directions for the formation of a common educational area.
